56th moon [video]

You'd think that after a year and seven months, the locals would be unable to surprise me anymore.

[This strange introduction comes with the image of an innocent-looking house. An innocent-looking house that has a pond and fences blocking its door, in fact. Rosie the Clefable is standing in front of it; every so often, she pokes the water's surface with curiosity.]

Necessitating either Surf or Fly to leave your house cannot possibly be practical. What if your Water- and Flying-types are ill? What if you have guests? What if your children wish to go play with friends? I doubt it's even sufficient to stop... thieves...

[He trails off as he stares in horror at the pond. Even Rosie stops touching the water and joins him in staring. Of course, that could be because of the slimy purple limb that just grabbed her arm.]

...Having Grimers in your water cannot be healthy. Goodness.

[He turns the Gear off, now. His little girl needs rescuing.]

Not everyone likes company. Those are some pretty extreme measures to take though.

When you got across, did they come out and demand you leave?

["Get off my lawn, you damn white-haired pretty boy king!"]

Oh. I thought they'd come out in response to you going across, like some sort of defense system.

[The fact that they did so without him even doing anything just makes it worse.]

Maybe they aren't angry at all, just.. curious? It's kind of hard to tell with living piles of toxic sludge.

It doesn't help that they always seem to be smiling.

... Which is a little bit creepy, actually.

True, but I can't unsee it regardless.

And if they don't have muscles, how are they moving?

I wonder if there's anyone researching the matter... [She pulls out her Pokedex and fiddles with it a bit.] I don't think there's any record of how it works currently written down.

That's a fair point, and I assume not too many people are all that concerned with Grimer anatomy.

Maybe there are individual books on each species...

That's a possibility. I'll probably forget about it by the time I go back there though.

Well, I think... or rather, I hope there will be some new arrivals I'll be wanting to see as soon as possible, sooner or later.
