[Cecil can seen, standing in the middle of a Pokémart. A Pokémart that is not Violet's. He's supposed to be in Violet. Why isn't he in Violet?]

Mahogany has what is quite possibly the worst selection of souvenirs I've even seen, and that includes the one time when Palom wanted me to choose between a pig and a toad who turned out to be his classmates.

[Why is he in Mahogany? Well, obviously for the badge. How did he even get there? You'd be surprised by the flying speed of a Dragonite. When did he get there? ...Really, really surprised.]

Rosa, Rydia, Kain. Would you rather receive a candy bar, a postcard, or a pair of Magikarp-shaped earrings? Or a fishing rod. They seem to love their fishing rods.

[He starts looking around with little interest in his eyes.]

I'd offer to bring back dinner instead, but by the time I return to Violet it'll certainly be cold. Please don't wait for me if I take too long.

As long as you train regularly, it should be easy enough to manage.

Unless you somehow manage to have no Pokémon who can resist a particular Gym leader, but there are ways to compensate for that.

Yeah. I've had to use attacks even when my type was weak.

For example, I used a Bug against Falkner.

That's a common problem. Our choice of Pokémon is rather limited, at first.

Eggs can help with that.

Eggs were much rarer, when I first arrived. Less people had reached to further cities, and Dittos were uncommon.

... Makes sense. Hadn't thought of what it was like for you earlier guys.

But now, even newcomers can obtain eggs and raise them quickly. It's good to see that we help each other succeed, even indirectly.

It is. I dunno where I'd be now if not for the guys I've gotten from eggs.

You'd be sighing at the lack of Ice-, Fighting- or Psychic-types, probably.

...

Come to think of it, I don't really have many of any of those.

Mine came from eggs. Or TMs, for the attacks.

I'll have to save up for some more TMs one day, I guess...

They're quite worth it. But if you'd rather not spend too much, you could always seek move tutors.

You've met him? Few people seem to care about his help, from what I've seen.

Besides, it'd have been rude to just ignore him when he's hitting trees like that.

I wonder if he ever tires of it? He seems to be there quite often.

Maybe he's like our "Mother".

...That'd be rather unsurprising, actually.
