[Cecil can seen, standing in the middle of a Pokémart. A Pokémart that is not Violet's. He's supposed to be in Violet. Why isn't he in Violet?]

Mahogany has what is quite possibly the worst selection of souvenirs I've even seen, and that includes the one time when Palom wanted me to choose between a pig and a toad who turned out to be his classmates.

[Why is he in Mahogany? Well, obviously for the badge. How did he even get there? You'd be surprised by the flying speed of a Dragonite. When did he get there? ...Really, really surprised.]

Rosa, Rydia, Kain. Would you rather receive a candy bar, a postcard, or a pair of Magikarp-shaped earrings? Or a fishing rod. They seem to love their fishing rods.

... What brought this on again?

The lack of souvenirs in what should be a touristic destination, I believe.

I mean the initial traveling.

I was hoping to estimate my Dragonite's flying speed. We decided to earn our seventh badge on the way.

... Which ones do you need for Fly again?

You obtain the HM by defeating Chuck in Cianwood, though you can also borrow it, and the Zephyr badge is necessary to make it work properly.

... So it just takes Cianwood?

I'd hardly say "just". Even if you ride a Pokémon, reaching it takes weeks.

Even if I got an air-ride?

...It'd be much shorter, but I think it'd still take a day or more. You'd also have to be ready to challenge the Gym, of course.

I'm definitely ready.

I must warn you, that city offers few sources of entertainment. You'd not want to have to train there for weeks.

I could train on the way or here, then head on over for my badge.

That would be the best option, yes.

Usually, though I've not needed to specifically train for a badge for some time.

As long as you train regularly, it should be easy enough to manage.

Unless you somehow manage to have no Pokémon who can resist a particular Gym leader, but there are ways to compensate for that.

Yeah. I've had to use attacks even when my type was weak.

For example, I used a Bug against Falkner.

That's a common problem. Our choice of Pokémon is rather limited, at first.

Eggs can help with that.

Eggs were much rarer, when I first arrived. Less people had reached to further cities, and Dittos were uncommon.

... Makes sense. Hadn't thought of what it was like for you earlier guys.
