[Cecil can seen, standing in the middle of a Pokémart. A Pokémart that is not Violet's. He's supposed to be in Violet. Why isn't he in Violet?]
Mahogany has what is quite possibly the worst selection of souvenirs I've even seen, and that includes the one time when Palom wanted me to choose between a pig and a toad who turned out to be his classmates.
[Why is he in Mahogany? Well, obviously for the badge. How did he even get there? You'd be surprised by the flying speed of a Dragonite. When did he get there? ...Really, really surprised.]
Rosa, Rydia, Kain. Would you rather receive a candy bar, a postcard, or a pair of Magikarp-shaped earrings? Or a fishing rod. They seem to love their fishing rods.
[He starts looking around with little interest in his eyes.]

From what I can tell, that age adjustment seems to mean very little. Especially since people call fall asleep for a week and awaken looking years older than they were.

Who knows with this world. The way it works is far from making sense, anyway.

Indeed. Their economy should have collapsed decades ago, if nothing else. Their government is even worse.

I find that it's best not to even think about it. If it somehow works, what's the point of questioning it? It's not as though we're in any position to improve it.

True. They seem to try their hardest to keep us away from the important parts of their society, other than the Pokémon. The available employment is definitely not adapted to our skills.

Well, we are foreigners to this world. Would you allow Fabul or Eblan to suddenly take control of Baron? As for soldiers, there doesn't seem to to be any sort of demand without war and the Pokémon being mostly peaceful, and there isn't magic here, so mages would be useless. We hardly have the skill sets that this place could use.

Suddenly take control, no. But citizens staying in Baron for long periods of time would be more than welcome to work as secretaries or clerks, if they wished. Certainly there must be foreign arrrivals with those skills at the moment.

It could just be that it takes awhile for that period of time to be reached. These things are usually measured in years, not months.

...Yet those months seem to last years and years, in this world.

It's all just a matter of perception. The natives likely feel that time goes faster here than we feel like it goes.

Of course they must. They've no reason to miss other lands and homes, unlike us.

They also cannot miss those came here and left, either. Still, the way the natives of a world perceive things will become that world's laws, no matter how much we dislike it.
