[A pile of eggs on a bed, unmoving. Pretty common sight around here, but where else could he put them?]

I seek loving homes for the fruits of my team's passions.

[It could almost sound poetic, but it mostly sounds tired and hoping to get this over with.]

P1500 for the Axew, Dratini, Happiny, Cubchoos, Ekans and Feebas. P200 for the Magikarps. Most should have decent movesets once they hatch, and I'm... almost certain the Magikarps will already know Tackle. Please take good care of them.

[And take them away from his bed, too.]

If I did, my wife would have to shoot every buyer and we'd have to pay the victims' families. It would hardly be a sound economic decision.

As my ability to think up interesting synonyms without laughing is limited, the writing part of it would certainly take much longer than it should.

How is it doing? If you're lucky it'll get along with its half-sibling.

One Magikarp is going to my friend fishing town and he loves a challenge so raising a Magikarp will be a treat for him. The guy getting the other one, could use a bit of patience and thinking when it comes to training so Magikarp fits the bill as well.

[Don't worry no one is going to use them for bats. The naggy ones of the group will make sure of that.]

Kurapica is doing great, he's a extremely focused, calculative and a touch short tempered during training or battles. Outside of it he's quite caring and calm. So he should get along with them just fine.

...Even with a Tackle attack from the beginning, raising one should be a challenge that demands patience indeed.

[One that Cecil himself never actually went through, amusingly.]

That's good to hear. I trust he's been a useful team member during your journey.

It's sign of a great trainer if they can raise them properly.

[It's also the signs of a horrible person to give your friends tacklekarp as gift. At least someone is getting a Feebas that's a setup. ]

He more sane then my other pokémon so that's a plus. Probably one of the more logical of them too. So he's a big help.

Or at least the sign of a well-informed trainer.

Considering the... quirkiness of the average team, I can imagine why that would be a blessing.

Well, it looks like someone's pokémon have gotten busy. How many eggs have you got there?

Only fourteen. I can hardly believe I'm saying this, but my team showed a lot of restraint.

[He was expecting at least thirty.]

Was it all amongst themselves or were there other trainers' pokémon involved?

[France's pokémon don't really like each other, so it's only ever the latter case.]

Only mine. We locked ourselves in the house the moment we started seeing blue Grimers in the streets.

[He still doesn't regret that particular decision.]

[France's mouth makes an "O" shape even though no actual sound comes out with it. It takes him a couple second to recover enough to chuckle, a nervous but sympathetic sound.]

I guess like us, the act of procreation helps pokémon keep their spirits up.

[He makes a face at that.]

I was hoping a whole week of group activities and games, along with brand new recipes tried for every meal, would suffice to keep them happy, but I appear to have aimed much too high.

[France chuckles in a knowing way.]

From my experience, once the passion of love hits, it is nigh impossible to ignore.

[He sighs, clearly remembering a plethora of such instances, before he reigns himself in.]

Your efforts to counteract their exuberance are admirable, though! What new recipes were you going to try, may I ask?

Unless you have a screaming newborn in the room, but that was before anyone started laying eggs.

[Besides, newborn Pokémon don't scream nearly as much as humans.]

A fish-based pasta sauce, a locally-made salad dressing, gingerbread cookies for dessert... Now that my food turns out well nineteen times out of twenty, I've been experimenting more.

[France's chuckles.]

That all sounds delightful, and that is an admirable ratio for a chef! I'm surprised, though, at the choice of gingerbread cookies. I had always associated them with the holidays rather than summer.

They have seasonal associations, truly? I merely found the recipe in a book and wanted to try it, but if it's best kept for a particular day...

[France nods, a whimsical expression coming over his face.]

Well, it's a little bit difficult to translate into English.

[He thinks it over for a few seconds, absently twisting his fingers through his hair.]

I've been eating gingerbread for over a thousand years. I don't usually make it as cookies, though; that's more an English and American thing. I make it as a bread that contains spices, not necessarily ginger. All together, gingerbread is a taste I've come to associate with holidays, but it's not necessary to only eat it around the holidays. It's always tasty with a good coffee.

It makes sense that a meal would pick up certain associations after so long... Though I do not dare add coffee to my team's snack, even if the pairing of those tastes would be pleasant. Most are already energetic enough without help.

Cubchoo you said? Those are those cute little bears, right?
